Sir Monday - Back to School Edition AKA -Hotel Hell

Welcome Back to another installment of Sir Monday, this weeks topic is "back to School". As mentioned plenty of times HBD and I have school-aged kids living at home. So this was the ritualistic Back to school shopping expedition. It started out simple enough, HBD and I with the two school-aged kids with us, the excursion was going to be an overnight one based on lack of selection in our rural hell. So Friday after work We loaded up for the three-hour drive to our nearest real city and to a hotel chain we thought was reasonable. Well let me tell you we arrived and checked in and went to the room, it was run down and filthy, not what we expected at all, it was obvious that someone had just halfway cleaned the room. We went to the front desk and complained, excuses were made and the "new housekeeper" was blamed, and another room was inspected and we were given those keys. This room was similarly rundown and in less than clean state. At this point, HBD is let's go and find another hotel we will walk away from the money rather than subject ourselves to this horror. After HDB goes and lets the front desk know we will not be staying and are applying for a refund, we find another hotel chain and they have rooms. Let's just say the other chain even though other locations have been good, even Stellar,( Hell I even lived in one for 6 months before I moved out to HBD), has completely lost our business and this other chain is our new preferred hotel.

To say this trip started off with an ominous tone is almost an understatement, but it shaped up and other than being an extremely long day went pretty well in my opinion. we went supply shopping, cloth shopping had a good couple of meals all in all a full day. Part of our day, of course, is pent navigating and when in a large metro it is good to have good navigation. HBD is an awesome navigator and is usually right on with her directions, but thins particular trip we had a miscue and that turned into a bit of situation that needed some correction to just nip it in the bud so to speak. (As my regular readers will recall, we have a child that will insert themselves into any perceived disagreement or conflict whither or not it is needed or even their place, a leftover present from HBD's ex, the child's biological father.) This created a communication point and discussion about how we as a D/s couple will handle this in the future, and with the added Daddy dynamic (we are still feeling our way into this, need to have expectation defined from both of us) I think we have a mechanism in place for correction without triggering the child.

Now that we are home safe and sound, another family expedition complete, both exhausted, maybe we will get some rest and a chance to get caught up. Being a parent really puts a cramp in our lifestyle for sure. I am feeling more confident every day and loving where things are taking us, HBD is the perfect woman to share my life with and as I tell her frequently, "my only regret is I didn't find you sooner"
